Squaremeal 2018: My top 5 picks!
Updated: Mar 6, 2019
Last Thursday, I woke up at 4.30am (4.30 AM?!?!) to catch the good old mega bus to London and attend the Squaremeal venue and events show live.
This is the second events tradeshow I’ve been to now and nothing beats the excitement of walking into the venue and feeling like a kid in a sweet shop.
I met lots of really interesting suppliers at the show, but a couple of them really stood out. Here are my top 5 picks from the day….
Now, anyone that has been to a few events I’ve organised, will know how much I love a balloon!
And as soon as I walked into the show, I was greeted with the sight of giant pink and clear round balloons, with tassle strings and from that point, I knew it was going to be a good day!
These gorgeous balloons were dotted around the show and I eventually found their source…bubblegum balloons!
I have been dribbling over their pictures on Instagram since and can’t wait to use them for an event.
Lick me, I’m delicious.
I said that walking into the show, I felt like a kid in a sweetshop. Well, arriving at this stall was like arriving at Willy wonka’s chocolate factory.
I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.
Edible bubbles that you catch in your mouth, flavoured mist that you suck up with a straw, edible fragrances and INCREDIBLE ice cream, made right in front of you.
This would be the perfect edition to any event, but could be magical in a Willy Wonka/chocolate themed event.
Now, this was different…cool…but different.
So basically, Eyecon art was started by a group of artists and they provide entertainment at events by taking a picture of your eye. That sounds totally random right?!
They take a really close up picture of your eye and I mean, CLOSE UP.
They then show you the picture of your eye and explain what every little detail means.
Don’t get it?
So, for example, they took a picture of my eye and talked to me about the fact that all the little lines and wiggles are collagen (what your eye is made from), how much melatonin you can see in my eye etc.
It’s absolutely fascinating and would be a really interesting source of entertainment for corporate dinners, launch parties etc.
Sparq are event production specialists. What originally drew me to their stall was their logo printed photo background (that obviously isn’t the technical name, but you get what I mean?!)
Sparq can provide you with all the event production you need. But I was also really drawn to their brand design, it’s really slick and contemporary.
Sparq would be a really useful supplier for a red carpet event or a press party and I can’t wait to see how we could work together.
So, I don’t think this is a new concept..but it was to me and I think it’s genius.
Pooldec staging provide staging that fits over swimming pools?!
This is an amazing product that not only utilises space in a really effective way but also, if incorporated into the event design, could look insane. Imagine having a catwalk on a swimming pool?!
The ideas would not stop coming all day after i’d heard about this!
I love attending shows like this, because it fills me with inspiration and ideas. If you’d like to have a chat about how I could help you host the event of the year and use these fabulous suppliers at your event, contact me through the Rare events website or on my social links below:
